Job Description

As a strategic partner in fostering a compliant, productive, and equitable workplace, this role is pivotal in driving Employee Relations Excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the ER lead, the position focuses on three core pillars:

1. Employee Relations

  • Implement ER frameworks, building guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Support on HR compliance and HR policies matters including drafting and implementing such in a legally compliant manner.
  • Poor performance management.
  • Reductions in workforce.
  • HR/Manager training.

2. Employment Investigation

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to manage and resolve employee concerns, and grievances effectively.
  • Conduct thorough and independent employment investigations in line with company policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Refine the investigations process to streamline and bring in efficiencies.

3. Operational Excellence

  • Train HRGs and managers on employee relations topics.
  • Create and maintain ER data base on case management systems.
  • Assess ER risks and trends analysis and support in building action plans to mitigate legal and compliance risk where necessary.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law/HR focusing on employee relations matters and empolyment investigations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employee relations and employment investigations, in Malaysia and broader APAC region. Experience outside APAC is also a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia and APAC employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with Unions/Work Council.
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow on the job.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and deal with complex issues.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear and respectful communications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team and leaders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can do attitude. Have a learn it all mindset and not a know it all mindset.
  • Always a Day One approach to ER/investigations.
