As a strategic partner in fostering a compliant, productive, and equitable workplace, this role is pivotal in driving Employee Relations Excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the ER lead, the position focuses on three core pillars:
1. Employee Relations
- Implement ER frameworks, building guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Support on HR compliance and HR policies matters including drafting and implementing such in a legally compliant manner.
- Poor performance management.
- Reductions in workforce.
- HR/Manager training.
2. Employment Investigation
- Partner with HR and business leaders to manage and resolve employee concerns, and grievances effectively.
- Conduct thorough and independent employment investigations in line with company policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Refine the investigations process to streamline and bring in efficiencies.
3. Operational Excellence
- Train HRGs and managers on employee relations topics.
- Create and maintain ER data base on case management systems.
- Assess ER risks and trends analysis and support in building action plans to mitigate legal and compliance risk where necessary.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law/HR focusing on employee relations matters and empolyment investigations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in employee relations and employment investigations, in Malaysia and broader APAC region. Experience outside APAC is also a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia and APAC employment laws and regulations.
- Experience working with Unions/Work Council.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow on the job.
- Must be able to work under pressure and deal with complex issues.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
