Application Developer (AS400)

As an AS400 Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and configuring software modules, interfaces, and system components within an AS400 environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements within defined timelines.

Your role will involve contributing to system enhancements by identifying and implementing solutions that improve functionality and better support user needs. You will follow established development standards and methodologies to ensure consistency and reliability in application design and delivery.

You are expected to continuously build your technical capabilities, stay updated with evolving development practices, and take initiative in identifying and escalating issues when necessary. The role requires a proactive mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and configure AS400 COBOL programs, modules, and system components
• Collaborate with team members to deliver quality solutions aligned with project timelines
• Identify opportunities to enhance system functionality based on business requirements
• Apply standard development methodologies and best practices in application design
• Ensure software quality and reliability through structured development approaches
• Proactively identify issues and escalate when required

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AS400 / COBOL development
• Strong understanding of AS400 environment and COBOL programming
• Experience working in a structured development and delivery environment
• Prior experience in banking or financial services environment is preferred
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
• Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving capabilities
