Job Description

Company Description

Catalyst AI is a Malaysian AI and application company. We turn document-heavy, compliance-driven business processes into intelligent, auditable workflows for mid-market companies and corporates, with a focus on retail, financial services and professional services. We are AI-native: we use AI at every step of how we sell, design and build, so a small senior team delivers what used to need a large one. We are a Malaysia Digital (MD) status company with a growing book of clients in regulated sectors.

Role Description

As part of our Applied AI team, you turn a business owner's problem into something we can sell and build. You run discovery, map the process, build a working demo with AI tools in days, write the scope, then own requirements and client coordination through to go-live.

What you will do

  • Discovery and process mapping. Run discovery sessions with owners, managing directors and heads of function. Map the current process, find where AI and automation genuinely pay off, and say plainly where they do not.
  • Working demos. Build tailored demos and prototypes with AI tools on top of our products and components, in days rather than weeks, so clients see their own process working before they sign.
  • Scope and solution design. Write the scope, solution outline and effort input behind every custom proposal. Check delivery capacity with the engineering lead before anything goes out.
  • Onboarding for product deals. Run our standard onboarding and requirements workshop when a client buys one of our packaged products.
  • Requirements. Turn discovery into written requirements and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from. No project starts without a scope signed by sales and delivery.
  • Delivery coordination. Be the client's day-to-day contact through the build: manage changes and change requests, run user acceptance testing and secure go-live sign-off.
  • Evidence trail. Keep the record our AI governance approach relies on: requirements traceability, decisions and test results, designed to support ISO/IEC 42001 practice.
  • Renew and expand. Work with sellers at renewal to find each client's next workflow.
  • Larger bids. Support the CEO on corporate and larger proposals with requirements and solution documents.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in business analysis, solution consulting, pre-sales or process consulting, at a consultancy, software house or systems integrator.
  • Experience running discovery with senior business stakeholders and writing requirements that engineers have built from.
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI tools in your work, and something you have built with them: a prototype, an automation or an internal app.
  • Enough technical fluency to talk data, integrations and databases with engineers. You will not write production code.
  • Clear written and spoken English; Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is an advantage with our clients.
  • Comfort in front of a business owner, and with ambiguity.

Advantages: exposure to retail, financial services or professional services (audit, accounting, corporate secretarial); a business analysis or process certification (CBAP, PMI-PBA, Lean); a Google Cloud or AWS certification; familiarity with PDPA or BNM RMiT.
