AR Accountant - Cash Collection (SSC)

Position Overview

Location: Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with work-from-home eligibility after probation, subject to company policy

Working Hours:

Monday-Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:15 PM

Reports To: Finance Service Site Leader

Position Summary

The AR Accountant is responsible for managing daily Accounts Receivable activities, collections, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance within the Financial Shared Services team. The role also supports process improvement, reporting automation, and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily AR transactions, including cash application, invoice issuance, intercompany debit notes, and customer master data maintenance.
• Upload invoices to customer portals where required.
• Follow up on overdue payments through calls, emails, and dunning letters.
• Monitor overdue accounts, assess credit risks, and support customer dispute resolution.
• Prepare monthly customer statements, AR aging reports, DSO reports, and reconciliations.
• Update and analyze financial data using Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Support month-end closing, internal and external audits, and SOX compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, including RPA initiatives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, US GAAP, and applicable local accounting standards.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Power BI, JD Edwards (JDE), and BlackLine is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, responsible, and results-driven.
• Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
