Job Description The AS400 Technical Lead is responsible for leading and delivering AS400-based banking solutions with a strong focus on remittance and payment systems. The role combines deep technical expertise with business analysis capabilities to design, implement, and support secure, high-performing applications that meet business and regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders, operations teams, and end users to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for AS400 banking applications
- Translate business requirements related to remittance and payment processing into detailed functional specifications and application workflows
- Perform impact analysis for business change requests on existing AS400 applications
- Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical development teams, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and priorities
- Support solution design by validating feasibility and alignment with AS400 architecture (RPG, RPGLE, COBOL400, DB2)
- Participate in functional reviews, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations
- Analyze production issues from a business and functional perspective and support root cause analysis
- Ensure applications comply with banking processes, operational controls, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain functional documentation, process flows, and change request records
