AS400 Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled AS400 Developer with 2–5 years of experience in IBM iSeries/AS400 application development, maintenance, and support. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in RPG development, DB2/400 databases, and AS400 system environments. The role involves developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on IBM AS400 (iSeries) platform.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, and deploy AS400 applications.
• Perform application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Create and optimize SQL queries and database objects in DB2/400.
• Develop and maintain batch jobs, CL programs, and interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Prepare technical documentation and support system upgrades.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to deliver quality solutions.

Required Skills

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in AS400/iSeries development.
• Strong knowledge of RPG, RPGLE, ILE RPG, and CL Programming.
• Experience working with DB2/400 databases.
• Good understanding of SQL and Query/400.
• Experience in application development, maintenance, and production support.
• Knowledge of AS400 system utilities, job scheduling, and debugging techniques.
• Familiarity with source control and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
