AS400 Developer

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled AS400 (IBM i) Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in RPG programming, CL, and DB2, along with a solid understanding of legacy system modernization and integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the AS400 / IBM i platform
• Write and optimize programs using RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Format RPG)
• Develop and maintain CL programs and job control processes
• Work with DB2/400 for database design, queries, and performance tuning
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Perform code reviews, testing, and documentation
• Support system integration with external applications and APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in AS400 / IBM i development
• Proficiency in RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400
• Experience with SQL on IBM i
• Knowledge of file structures, logical/physical files
• Familiarity with job scheduling and batch processing
• Good understanding of system debugging and performance tuning
• Experience in maintaining and enhancing legacy systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
