Job Description The AS400 Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical and managerial leadership for AS400-based banking applications. The role involves leading delivery, managing development teams, and ensuring secure, stable, and high-quality systems that meet business and regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of AS400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, and COBOL400
- Manage and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards and delivery timelines
- Plan and oversee projects, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management
- Review technical designs and perform code reviews to ensure quality and best practices
- Design, optimize, and manage DB2 databases on the AS400 platform
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate banking requirements into technical solutions
- Ensure application performance, security, and regulatory compliance
- Lead resolution of critical production issues
- Maintain comprehensive technical and project documentation
