Assembly Operator, Vision Care

Purpose of this position / Position summary:

The Cut Edge and Fit (CEF) Operator II in the optical industry is responsible for performing advanced cutting, edging, and fitting operations on optical lenses and frames. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The operator will work closely with the team lead and other technicians to achieve production targets and maintain a safe working environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Operational Duties

• Perform fitting operations on optical lenses and frames (full frame, Rimlon & Rimless)
• Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications, including optical clarity and precision fitting.
• Conduct regular inspections of lenses and frames during and after the edging & fitting process.
• Ability to operate machines and equipment supporting CEF production such as Tracer, Blocker, manual drilling machine, manual Groover, lensmeter & thickness gauges
• Maintains production machines and equipment, preventive maintenance of necessary machines

Quality Control

• Identify and address any defects or issues in cut, edge and fit process
• Implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
• Maintain records of production activities and outcomes

Safety & Compliance

• Follow safety protocols specific to work area
• Observe compliance with industry regulations and company policies
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping in the CE&F area, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

1. Experience

• 3 years working experience in optical manufacturing or production environment
• 3 years of working experience in retail optics, with the ability to perform Cut, Edge & Fit tasks independently

Knowledge / Skills / Other characteristics:

• Basic proficiency in operating cut, edge and fit equipment and frame alignment
• Basic related equipment maintenance
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve agreed upon results

Working conditions & Other Attributes:

• 5.5 working days.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
