The Site Operations Department
The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and the performance of all data modules within our data centers.
This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guaranty of business continuity. It ensures the operational excellence of our campus and the performance of our customer installations.
The Site Operations Department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance. It is also responsible for upgrading our existing fleet of buildings to provide a bestinclass environment for our customers.

Position Overview
Vantage is looking for a driven Assistant Project Manager, Critical Facilities, to support the successful delivery of Vantage operations projects on time and within budget under the guidance of the
Program Manager.
This role will support the overall delivery of operational and capital expenditure works undertaken across the KUL Campus. Personnel safety and customer operations must be prioritized to ensure no loss of service during any project activity.
Collaboration and integration in the operational lifecycle process is integral to the role. Coordination with Vantage internal subject matter experts ensures longterm operational sustainability is preserved while driving toward optimized project delivery. The Assistant Project Manager will support project delivery along with external parties (i.e. authorities, consultants, contractors, vendors, as required).
Essential Job Functions
- Support the delivery of project activities including utility interfacing, budget tracking, schedules, procurement coordination, and contractor interface.
- Support the Program Manager in driving coordination and integration of internal/external partners within the project lifecycle.
- Act as a safety advocate while supporting a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of data center activities.
- Seek input from internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as necessary, e.g., Security, Automation, IT, Mechanical & Electrical etc.
- Assist in managing operational constraints impacting project execution.
- Review MOPs and PTWs to ensure operational impact is minimized.
- Support the Operational Change Management process.
Duties
- Support in implementing Vantage's highest standards of cost, quality, and program control throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, transition, and handover phases.
- Assist in implementing and reviewing operational and project safety management procedures to ensure compliance with all mandatory and industry standards.
- Support safety processes to ensure risks are minimized for all personnel and members of the public.
- Assist in contract preparation and support procurement and negotiation activities in coordination with internal teams.
- Perform onboarding vendors on internal processes, including site access, TPRM, contracts, finance, and operational requirements (house rules, MOP, PTW, HIRAC, EHS induction, etc.).
- Assist with identifying opportunities to innovate design (in conjunction with SMEs), derisk programs, manage budget, and support quality delivery.
- Coordinate external stakeholders for the design, construction, and delivery of projects under the direction of the Program Manager.
- Support in preparation of contracts and revisions with internal legal counsel and procurement.
- Participate in regular project review meetings with internal and external teams; prepare meeting notes and report updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support monitoring of project programs, cost control processes, and project information systems in conjunction with project controls teams.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports based on agreed standard formats that provide accurate updates to Site Operations Leadership regarding active projects.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with all relevant local permitting and government/local authority regulations.
- Ensure project information including costs, schedules, procurement, technical data, invoices, funding requests, and change notifications properly communicated and documented.
- Perform day-to-day project monitoring on-site.
- Support resolution of issues and deficiencies and assist in implementing contingency plans to recover project cost and schedule impacts.
- Support proper and complete handover of completed works to Vantage Site Operations.
- Participate in a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Support contractor management and administration, stakeholder coordination, and the efficient delivery of project services.
- Ensure that Vantage policies and procedures are followed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in project or construction coordination, preferably in technical or critical environments.
- Experience in data center operations or technical facilities preferred.
- Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and/or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) project/construction management is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.
- Able to prepare communications and presentations for reporting purposes.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Demonstrate continuing professional development, e.g. pursuit of PMP, PE, CEng, etc preferred.
