Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring all maintenance activities and work orders are completed and properly recorded
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all M&E systems, equipment, and facilities
  • Lead, supervise, and manage Engineering team members, including performance management, scheduling, and training
  • Monitor and ensure optimal operation of all plant, equipment, and building systems
  • Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility consumption to improve efficiency
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and ensure availability of engineering supplies
  • Drive cost control measures while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards
  • Plan and execute special projects, repairs, and improvement works as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards
  • Lead and manage Fire & Life Safety (FLS) programmes, including inspections, maintenance, training, and emergency preparedness
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and act as Emergency Response Team (ERT) leader when required
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments to support hotel operations
  • Prepare reports, maintenance plans, and updates for the Director of Engineering

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 57 years of experience in hotel engineering, with at least 23 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, M&E equipment, and hotel engineering operations
  • Experience in preventive maintenance planning and project management
  • Good understanding of Fire & Life Safety systems and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cost-conscious with knowledge of budgeting and inventory control
  • Familiar with safety regulations, environmental practices, and energy conservation
  • Flexible and able to respond to emergencies when required
