Summary:
- Managing the tax compliance process for Bumi Armada Berhad (BAB) Group of companies to ensure full compliance.
- Manage relevant tax audit and disputes.
- Provide tax advice to optimize BAB group's tax efficiency through tax planning activities and corporate structuring.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of Transfer Pricing Documentation as required by relevant tax jurisdictions.
- Liaise with external tax consultants on tax issues or exposures.
- Review relevant monthly tax forecast, yearly tax budget, and long-term tax forecast as required.
- Carry out a Tax Governance role.
- Ad hoc tasks as and when required.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Tax Reporting
- Responsible for monitoring, preparation and collation of all tax data for tax compliance and tax reporting purposes for BAB group companies:
- Tax provision for monthly & quarterly reporting.
- Deferred tax for monthly & quarterly reporting.
- Tax Accounting for quarterly & yearly reporting.
- Corporate tax filing obligation including estimate and provision of tax estimate in accordance with local regulation.
- Oversee the submission of direct and indirect tax returns for BAB group companies in accordance with local tax regulations.
Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Coordinate the compilation, submission and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation supporting the Group's intercompany charges and other cross border related party transactions.
Tax Audit and Investigation
- Be the key liaison person with tax consultants & tax authorities and manage tax audit and investigation for Malaysia and regional entities.
Tax Advisory and planning projects
- Provide tax advice to optimize and improve tax efficiency through tax planning activities.
- Liaison with respective business units/regional subsidiaries on any tax issues affecting business operations.
Tax Governance and technical development
- Carry out a Governance role with regards to compliance with tax and related compliance laws and regulations in jurisdictions that the Group operates in.
- Developing group tax risk governance framework and implementation of group tax policy and ensure that an adequate tax risk management and governance structure is maintained.
- Monitor emerging trends in the tax environment and changes to tax regulations , assess impact on business operations and develop tax policy response.
Others
- Provide training to staff to improve staff's technical knowledge and keep them abreast of current developments.
- Any other duties/ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and Professional Qualifications.
- At least 15 to 18 years of working experience within a multinational organization and /or Public Accounting Firm.
- Detailed experience and knowledge of Malaysian and International taxes preferably in the oil and gas industry.
