About the Role
The Assistant General Manager, People Partnering is a strategic business partner responsible for aligning people strategies with business priorities across assigned Business Groups and Business Units.
Working closely with senior leaders, the incumbent drives workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement initiatives to build a high-performing, future-ready workforce. This role acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring people decisions support sustainable growth, transformation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner with Business Group and Business Unit leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support business objectives.
- Provide strategic advice on organizational design, workforce planning, talent risks, and change management.
- Influence leadership teams on people-related decisions to drive business performance and organizational effectiveness.
2. Talent & Workforce Management
- Lead workforce planning and talent discussions to ensure capability needs are met.
- Partner with Group Talent Acquisition to attract, select, and retain top talent.
- Drive succession planning and build strong leadership pipelines across the business.
3. Performance & Organizational Development
- Champion performance management, talent reviews, and leadership development initiatives.
- Identify capability gaps and work with COEs to implement effective development solutions.
- Support organizational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Employee Relations & Culture
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters and ensure fair, consistent people practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and high performance.
- Act as a culture ambassador, strengthening employee experience and organisational values.
5. HR Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR policies, and governance requirements.
- Partner with HR Shared Services and COEs to deliver seamless HR solutions and employee lifecycle support.
- Monitor key people metrics and provide insights to support business decision-making.
Job Requirement
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a Business Partnering or HR leadership role.
- Strong experience in workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business outcomes through people strategies.
- Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, matrix, or diversified business environment is preferred.
