Job description:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing channel strategies and programs to drive brand growth in General Trade (GT) channels to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of GT channel business development plan with very clear objectives and tactical action plans from forecasting to execution.
  • Identify, prioritize, and build strong long term mutually beneficial relationships with key channel partners, including distributors, resellers, and retailers providing support, training, and resources as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct regular field visits with the sales team to coach on journey planning, claim settlement, and merchandising fundamentals.
  • Manage regional sales budgets and expenses, monitoring performance against financial plans.
  • Monitor and analyze channel performance identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary through close follow up of key KPIs achievements, Net Sales, In Market Sales (IMS), DIH (Days Inventory Held), Forecasts, Payments, Coverage, Distribution and Penetration.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on channel performance, highlighting key metrics and insights to senior management.
  • Manage channel partner contracts, agreements, sales budgets, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability and mitigate risks.
  • Drive assortment, product launches and promotions through channel partners, ensuring effective execution and ROI and based on market specifics and potential.
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Key Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Business, Commercial or equivalent / Diploma with good experience will be considered.
  • A strong track record in sales and business development role with at least 5 years in within an FMCG industry.
  • Good experience in sales force and distribution management.
  • Preferably possess some point of career exposure to MNC company before, but yet have the agility to adapt to our culture.
  • Candidate with beauty / personal care / household experience will have added advantage.
  • Computer literate, well-versed in Microsoft Excel, Power-Point.
  • Good market knowledge, possess strong network among the FMCG industry and local area.
  • A track record in creating and executive sales strategies.
  • Experience in creating and diagnose approaches in new business development.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to build and motivate a sizeable team.
