The Assistant Key Account Manager / Key Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and managing strategic key accounts within the FMCG sector, including Modern Trade chains and key distributors. This role ensures strong execution of commercial strategies, in-store excellence, and sustainable partnerships to achieve revenue and market share objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Strategic Growth
- Directly manage and grow relationships with major Modern Trade accounts, with a specific focus on Mydin and Giant.
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBP) that align with both company objectives and retailer goals.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market share, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
Commercial Execution & Trade mangement
- Oversee trade spend management, ensuring optimal ROI on promotional activities and marketing investments.
- Drive in-store excellence by ensuring high levels of stock availability, shelf presence, and secondary displays.
- Negotiate annual trading terms, listing fees, and promotional calendars with category managers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experienced over 3–10 years in FMCG sales, managing Modern Trade/Key Accounts.
- Proven track record handling major Malaysian retailers (e.g., Mydin, Giant, 99 SpeedMart, Lotus's, AEON etc).
- Strong negotiation, analytical mindset, and the ability to manage complex commercial budgets.
