Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Finance and Accounts Division, ensuring efficient workflows and timely task completion
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, providing guidance and technical support to team members
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department, focusing on process optimization and compliance with regulatory developments.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Finance & Accounts team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits and ensure timely submission of audited financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.

Job Requirements

  • Professional qualification such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), CPA, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial reporting, and accounting standards (MPERS / MFRS).
  • Good understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Companies Act 2016, Accountants Act 1967, and Financial Reporting Act 1997.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian Institute of Accountants by-laws on professional ethics and conduct.
  • Experience using accounting software and financial systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, resolve accounting issues, and support decision-making.
  • Basic understanding of audit standards and audit processes.
  • Awareness of the economic and regulatory environment affecting financial reporting.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in Malaysia.
