About the role
As an Assistant Manager, Branch Strategy & Development at AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's strategic growth and expansion plans. In this full-time position based in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of innovative branch-level strategies to ensure the company's continued success within the consulting and strategy sector.
What you'll be doing
1) Project
- Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end project delivery for new branch development, office renovation, refurbishment, relocation, reinstatement, closure projects and CDM-related projects (including relocation, new installation, replacement, and decommissioning).
- Review, prepare, and validate Bills of Quantities (BQ), ensuring scope, specifications, quantities, and pricing are accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements.
- Cross-check BQ items, specifications, and pricing across multiple vendors and contractors to ensure consistency, competitiveness, and value optimization for the company.
- Evaluate vendor quotations, analyze cost breakdowns, identify discrepancies or omissions in BQ submissions, and provide clear recommendations for cost optimization and award.
- Coordinate procurement activities including vendor sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation support, and internal approval submissions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments (pre-project, during execution, and post-completion) to ensure scope adherence, progress compliance, workmanship quality, and cost control.
- Manage project costs, variations, and claims; verify variation orders against site conditions, approved scope changes, and BQ to avoid unnecessary cost exposure.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. business units, operations, IT, facilities & more) and external parties (consultants, contractors, landlords) to ensure smooth execution and alignment.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion and readiness for handover.
- Prepare and submit regular project status updates, cost reports, and ad-hoc reports to management.
- Prepare Executive Committee (EC) presentation materials, including cost analysis and BQ summaries, and support approval processes for branch and office development projects.
2) Design
- Develop and propose space-efficient design concepts for Branches, CSUs, and Regional Offices in line with operational requirements and brand standards.
- Prepare and review 2D and 3D layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation for nationwide branch and office renovation projects.
- Conduct site inspections (pre-design and pre-renovation) to obtain measurements and validate feasibility of proposed layouts and designs.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in design, layout, and space utilization for future branch and office developments.
- Source, evaluate, and coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors; support cost negotiations and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Obtain quotations, compare proposals, and process internal approval workflows in compliance with company procedures.
- Coordinate and support project execution for new branch development, refurbishment, relocation, reinstatement, and closure.
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., fit-out, operations) and external stakeholders to ensure timely design approvals and smooth project implementation.
- Assist in planning and tracking project timelines to ensure projects are delivered within agreed schedules.
- Prepare regular (weekly and ad-hoc) project updates and reports for management.
- Prepare Executive Committee (EC) presentation materials and support the approval process for branch development projects.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on pre-renovation requirements and ensure readiness prior to project commencement.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Quantity Surveyor, Project Management or relevant field
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in strategic planning, branch network management or a related field within the consulting and strategy sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to senior stakeholders
- Proven track record of successfully implementing branch-level initiatives and driving measurable business impact
- Familiarity with the financial services industry and an understanding of the competitive landscape in Malaysia
- Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
