Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

The Assistant Manager, Cloud & Server Compute is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's cloud infrastructure and on-premise server compute environments. This role ensures the availability, reliability, and performance of systems that support critical business operations. It involves implementing best practices for system administration, enforcing compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards, and providing on-site support for cloud and server systems in shifts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Infrastructure Management:

Monitor, maintain, and optimize private cloud platforms (e.g., VMWare, AWS, Azure, GCP), host server compute, storage & backup environments to ensure maximum uptime and performance. Deploy and configure virtual servers based on business requirements. Track IOPS, latency, and throughput to ensure optimal performance.

  • Operational Oversight:

Manage daily operations, perform system health checks, troubleshoot performance issues, execute firmware OS patch management and relevant upgrades.

  • On-Site Support:

Provide on-site technical support and diagnose incident resolution during assigned shifts, ensuring minimal downtime for critical systems.

  • System Administration:

Implement and enforce best practices for system configuration, automation, and documentation.

  • Security & Compliance:

Ensure systems adhere to organizational security policies, compliance with internal or external standards. (ISO, ITIL, etc.), and regulatory requirements.

  • Capacity Planning:

Conduct performance monitoring, resource utilization, capacity planning & optimize performance to support business growth and scalability.

  • Disaster Recovery & Backup:

Manage backup processes and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Develop and test DR plans to ensure business continuity. Perform data recovery operations as needed, ensuring minimal downtime. Ensure backups meet regulatory and business retention requirements.

  • Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams (Network, Security, Application) to deliver integrated solutions and resolve complex issues.

  • Reporting:

Generate, prepare regular reports on system health, performance, resource & capacity utilization. Identify & execute improvement initiatives. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and incidents records for management review.

  • Team Support:

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers or analysts within the team.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

Degree in Communication/ IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

WE VALUE

  • Proficiency in server, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies (VMware, RedHat Linux, Veeam, AWS, Azure, system automation, SMS Gateway).
  • Professional VMware Certification(e.g., VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization).
  • Other cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator) are advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Additional Certificate is advantageous (Execution Time Constraint Deliverable, Professional Presentation, IP Network Strategy and Implementation, Leadership)
