The Applicant Will Mainly Perform The Following Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the strategies and activities of the environmental protection and management function.
  • Develop a strategic plan for the campus to promote best environmental practices and ensure zero environmental incidents.
  • Oversee and manage the Environmental Officer and EHS teams of the appointed contractor or consultant to ensure the successful delivery of project requirements.
  • Implement environmental protection and management guidelines, policies, and systems, ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations.
  • Maintain records of environmental incidents, conduct investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Manage construction site emergency response plans to address environmental incidents for all stakeholders involved.
  • Prepare regular environmental monitoring and performance reports, along with trend analyses for client and regulatory authority review, highlighting past performances and the progress of improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training, workshops, and best practices; monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for the campus.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, processes, and initiatives to enhance the company's environmental sustainability.
  • Support other functions as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Experience, Qualifications And Education

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or environmental science.
  • Certification as an Environmental Professional (e.g., CEPSWAM, CISESC, CESSWI, CEPOEIA) is mandatory.
  • Certification as an EHS professional (e.g., Green Book, IOSH, NEBOSH, CSP) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Environmental Officer.
  • In-depth knowledge and recognized qualifications in EHS management, including relevant ISO certifications, are expected.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in using environmental monitoring equipment and data analysis software.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
  • A short notice period or immediate availability would be advantageous.
