The Applicant Will Mainly Perform The Following Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the strategies and activities of the environmental protection and management function.
- Develop a strategic plan for the campus to promote best environmental practices and ensure zero environmental incidents.
- Oversee and manage the Environmental Officer and EHS teams of the appointed contractor or consultant to ensure the successful delivery of project requirements.
- Implement environmental protection and management guidelines, policies, and systems, ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations.
- Maintain records of environmental incidents, conduct investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
- Manage construction site emergency response plans to address environmental incidents for all stakeholders involved.
- Prepare regular environmental monitoring and performance reports, along with trend analyses for client and regulatory authority review, highlighting past performances and the progress of improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training, workshops, and best practices; monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for the campus.
- Research and recommend new technologies, processes, and initiatives to enhance the company's environmental sustainability.
- Support other functions as assigned by the Line Manager.
Required Experience, Qualifications And Education
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or environmental science.
- Certification as an Environmental Professional (e.g., CEPSWAM, CISESC, CESSWI, CEPOEIA) is mandatory.
- Certification as an EHS professional (e.g., Green Book, IOSH, NEBOSH, CSP) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Environmental Officer.
- In-depth knowledge and recognized qualifications in EHS management, including relevant ISO certifications, are expected.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in using environmental monitoring equipment and data analysis software.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
- A short notice period or immediate availability would be advantageous.
