About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented finance professional to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate and insightful month-end closings for Great Eastern Group of Companies. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies.

Management Expenses / Accruals

  • To keep track of the monthly expenses against the approved budget.
  • To liaise with the respective Business Units on the release of accruals.
  • To prepare journal entries for monthly accrual, cost reclassifications and allocations.
  • To prepare commentary and address any abnormalities of the monthly expenses and/or accruals.

Intercompany Transaction

  • To compile and verify all the necessary documents for intercompany transactions.
  • To allocate the intercompany transaction expense and issue billing together with Statement of Account to the respective company on monthly basis.
  • To ensure the intercompany transactions are accurately captured in the system on monthly basis.
  • To perform monthly reconciliations on the intercompany balances and to address discrepancies immediately. All outstanding items are itemized with reasons and actions are taken as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) unless with valid reason.
  • Assist in formulation, developing and ensuring the SOPs are reviewed and updated to reflect the actual practice on a yearly basis.
  • To perform intercompany settlement on timely basis.

Overall

  • Support/Assist to centralize Account Management processes from related entities and work towards Regional Service Center.
  • Perform/review and support daily finance operations activities
  • Involve in the monthly closing activities and daily tasks by the stipulated timelines.
  • Streamline the daily and monthly activities process across all entities.
  • Assist in handling finance related queries and requirement from Group Finance and auditors.
  • Implement processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in formulation, developing and ensuring the SOPs are reviewed and updated to reflect the actual practice on a yearly basis.
  • As part of the leadership team, work with key stakeholders to proactively shape the organisation's culture and conduct environment that is aligned to the organization's Core Values

Ad-Hoc

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superior as and when required.

We are looking for people who

  • Degree holder in Accounting/ Finance/ Business Administration or a recognised professional accounting qualification or recognised qualification in Life Insurance Operations (e.g. LOMA, MII)
  • 3-4 years of working experience with minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory roles.
  • Knowledge in Accounting Systems.
  • Professional experience in tax and insurance industries.
  • Good time management and detailed-oriented.
  • Good communication skills – written/verbal.
  • Able to work independently and a good team player.
  • Analytical thinking, cross functional knowledge, finance best practice, proactive in solving any issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and good in other computer skills.
