Job Descriptions
1. Business Partnering & Strategic Support
- Drive financial performance discussions with key stakeholders, provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Provide commercial support on pricing strategies, margin improvement, and customer profitability analysis.
- Educate and upskill non-Finance stakeholders to raise financial awareness in the business.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the end-to-end financial planning cycle (Annual Budget, Rolling Forecasts, Strategic Plans, and asset impairment exercise).
- Develop and maintain dynamic financial models to simulate business scenarios and support decision-making and forecasting.
- Develop and present monthly, quarterly and annual management reports, including KPI, financial metrics and variance analysis to explain business performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
3. Business Performance Reporting & Insights
- Design and deliver monthly business performance reports with actionable insights.
- Translate complex financial data into clear and impactful storytelling for senior management.
- Implement dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to enhance decision-making.
4. Profitability & Cost Management
- Analyse product margins, customer profitability, and SKU performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Lead cost optimisation projects to improve gross margin and operational efficiency.
- Identify gaps and opportunities leading to cost savings, efficiency gains and improved performance
- Support product pricing strategies and recommend price adjustments based on margin analysis.
5. Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Proactively identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Drive strong internal controls and compliance with policies, and corporate governance standards.
- Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our policies
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness.
6. Investment Appraisal & Business Cases
- Develop financial models to evaluate capital investment proposals, new product launches, and commercial initiatives.
- Develop scorecards or relevant analytical reports for business performance review on approved investments (Capex & Projects ROI).
Job Requirements
- A university degree/professional qualification in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5- 8 years FP&A or business controlling experience in a progressively growing capacity
- Membership with the CIMA/CPA/MIA or any other recognised professional body in Malaysia
- Credibility to lead and challenge the business
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the business
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures, international financial reporting standards, economics, and finance functions
- Understanding of the regulations and reporting requirements of a public listed company
- Proficiency in financial modelling, spreadsheet designs and analysis software (e.g., Excel, Oracle Netsuite/Hyperion, Power BI).
- Excellent command of communications skills, able to relay complex information and analyses in a precise and clear manner
- Ability to network and communicate with employees of all levels across all functions
- High level of discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen eye for details
- Must be willing to work in Shah Alam, Selangor.
