Job Description

The Assistant Manager, Human Resources will support the department across the following core HR functions:

Human Resources Planning & Staffing

  • Manage the full-cycle staffing process from recruitment to onboarding
  • Conduct induction and orientation programs for new employees

Employee Relations

  • Ensure all employees are informed of HR policies and procedures, responding promptly to related inquiries
  • Address employee grievances and provide guidance to foster a positive workplace culture
  • Advise management on resolving employee relations issues effectively
  • Manage disciplinary matters in compliance with company policy and legal standards
  • Plan and organise employee engagement and social activities

Training and Development

  • Consult with Line Managers and coordinate with training providers to address identified training needs
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee training records
  • Oversee the implementation and consistency of the performance management process

Payroll and HR Administration

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner for all employees
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, leave management, and statutory claims
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and manage physical personnel files
  • Prepare benefit records and workforce statistics for statutory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR working experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the Malaysian Employment Act, local labour laws, and industrial relations procedures
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Proven experience in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing HR systems and operational procedures
  • Strong hands-on experience across full-cycle recruitment
  • Independent problem-solver with sound judgment and a high level of discretion regarding confidential matters
  • Well-organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
