Assistant Manager, Investment & Group Strategy
A leading Malaysian property development group is looking for an Assistant Manager, Investment & Group Strategy to join its corporate strategy and investment team.
What you'll actually do
- Support end-to-end M&A and corporate exercises, including due diligence, financial modelling, valuation and transaction structuring.
- Evaluate potential investments, land acquisitions and strategic opportunities through financial and commercial analysis.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties, including consultants, legal advisors, bankers and other professional advisors.
- Prepare investment papers, management papers and Board presentations for senior management and the Board.
- Monitor the Group's existing investment portfolio and projects, tracking performance against projections, targets and key assumptions.
- Support the preparation of investor presentations, quarterly results materials and regulatory announcements.
- Participate in analyst briefings and assist with investor and stakeholder queries when required.
- Monitor competitors, industry developments, market trends and market sentiment to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Lead, guide and review the work of analysts within the team.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Investment or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, corporate development, M&A, equity research or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of financial modelling, valuation techniques (DCF, IRR, NPV), feasibility studies and investment appraisal.
- Experience preparing investment papers, Board papers, management reports and presentation materials.
- Good understanding of capital markets, financial reporting, corporate governance and regulatory disclosure requirements.
- Experience working with investors, analysts, financial institutions and other external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and review the work of junior team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in property development, real estate investment or a public-listed company will be an added advantage.
- Commercially minded, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Position is based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
