Assistant Manager, Investment Operations

About The Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to provide Business-As-Usual (BAU) support across front-to-back investment systems. This role is focused on ensuring high-quality, timely and accurate investment data – including security master, reference data and pricing – across functions such as Portfolio Management, Risk, Performance and Reporting.

The analyst will be responsible for data scrubbing, enrichment and exception handling, working closely with internal teams to maintain operational continuity and data integrity throughout the investment lifecycle.

• Deliver day-to-day BAU support for data flows across front-to-back investment systems, including trade capture, portfolio valuations and reporting.
• Perform data scrubbing and validation of security master data, derivatives terms and conditions, reference data, and pricing to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Perform system health checks, monitor scheduled data loads and interfaces between internal investment platforms and third-party service providers.
• Investigate and resolve data exceptions and breaks, escalating to relevant teams when necessary.
• Conduct data quality checks to maintain data integrity and ensure accurate, consistent and uninterrupted data flow across systems, supporting the accuracy of data required for Investment Reporting and Risk & Performance Attribution Analysis, while ensuring timely data availability for month-end closing.
• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

• Possess a recognised Degree in Accounting or Finance or Investment.
• 2-3 years of experience, preferably with exposure to the financial services industry. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Working knowledge of financial instruments is a plus.
• Meticulous, with a structured approach to data validation and a keen interest in data quality and in exception handling.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work on weekends and Malaysia public holidays when required.
• High level of integrity and accountability, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
