ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a full-time Assistant Manager Legal for our operations located in Pelabuhan Klang. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support for the Company's operations and transactions as well as handling any legal disputes. This is an on-site role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide advisory services on various legal issues and business transaction to the management and ensure contracts and policies made are in compliance with the Company's standard and applicable law.
  • To handle, review, negotiate and administer legal documentations for the Company and its related companies and this includes drafting business contracts and letters as well as reviewing agreement to ensure legal compliance.
  • To provide legal support for the smooth operation of the legal functions of the Company and its related companies with emphasis on corporate matters.
  • Managing potential disputes and litigation matters and dispute resolution for the Company.
  • To manage the Company's legal risk matters to ensure required interests are protected and minimize risk exposure.
  • To assist in managing/reviewing panel solicitors and annual performance assessments.
  • To monitor and maintain all legal file records, contracts, company legal documents, and filling where necessary.
  • To undertake and responsible in the preparation, finalization, completion and application/carrying out of any other ad-hoc matters as instructed by the Company from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent.
  • Preferably with 5 years working experience in a corporate sector or as in-house counsel in a related port industry.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia and able to effectively and efficiently communicate with an aptitude for practical negotiation.
  • Able to identify legal issues and render workable solutions and well-versed in litigation matters, law of contract and other corporate related matters.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply legal principles to a range of business situations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good analytical and drafting skills with high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Highly collaborative to work as a team and self-motivated to work independently with minimum supervision and able to meet deadlines. .
  • Must be willing to work outside regular business hours as and when required.
  • Those who are able to start work immediately is preferred.
