Job Description

Company Description APM Automotive Holdings Berhad is one of Malaysia's largest automotive parts manufacturing groups, with roots dating back to the 1970s and its first plant opened in 1980. The company has grown through close collaboration with international technical partners, focusing on engineering excellence in auto component manufacturing. APM holds key environmental and quality certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949, enabling its products to compete globally. Its products, including suspension parts, interior components, seats, electrical/electronic parts, and heat exchange systems, are exported to over 50 countries and supplied to major OEMs such as Honda, Toyota, Ford, Perodua, and Proton. APM continues to expand across ASEAN, particularly in Vietnam and Indonesia, with a strong commitment to quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

  • Objective: To lead and optimize production operations by implementing efficient processes, ensuring high-quality output, and fostering a safe, collaborative work environment. Seeking to leverage strong leadership, organizational skills, and technical expertise to meet production goals, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the organization's success.
  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery deadlines. Allocate 4M resources efficiently, including labour, machinery, method, and materials.
  • Restudy, fine tune, supervise and motivate production staff to achieve performance targets. Provide training and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Ensure production meets quality standards and customer specifications. Collaborate with the QA, process, tooling team to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, Kaizen activities to enhance productivity. Monitor and reduce waste, downtime, and production costs.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections and address potential hazards proactively.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, output, and cost. Prepare and present production reports to senior management.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Coordinate internally with PPCD and externally through purchasing suppliers and procurement teams for timely deliveries.
  • Involve in the production plant layout, automation projects, IR4.0 projects to make improvement at the shopfloor.
  • Work with maintenance team to keep the production equipment in good working condition, make repair on time and not cause any issue to delivery.
  • Work with logistics on solving the recycling racks and packaging boxes issue, so that production able to produce at the required lot size and not cause frequent production.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Industrial
  • Professional Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience with inventory management, supply chain management, and quality control systems.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar high-volume, precision-focused industry is preferred.
  • ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification.
