Company Overview
The Golden Duck is a Singapore-born premium snack brand best known for its award-winning salted egg snacks. Distributed in 10+ countries around the world, we are a fast-growing FMCG brand with global ambitions and a strong commercial foundation. We operate with a lean, high-performance team and expect every member to contribute with both strategic clarity and hands-on execution.
Job Purpose
The Assistant Marketing Manager will work closely with the Head of Brand & Creative to drive brand growth across multiple markets. This is a commercially grounded role that blends strategic thinking with disciplined planning and strong in-market execution. The successful candidate will be expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and proactivity – picking up the brief, connecting the dots with internal teams and trade partners, and ensuring plans come to life on the ground.
Role Focus
The role is structured around three core areas:
• Strategy & Brand Direction (20%): Supporting the brand head in shaping market strategy, identifying opportunities, and ensuring commercial alignment.
• Planning & Campaign Development (40%): Driving the annual and quarterly planning process, building activation calendars, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional workstreams.
• Execution & In-Market Activation (40%): Owning the delivery of trade activations, distributor support, product launches, and influencer or partnership programmes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Strategy Support
• Partner with the Head of Brand & Creative to develop and maintain brand strategies across Singapore, Australia and more.
• Translate brand positioning into actionable market-level plans tailored to channel and consumer context.
• Contribute to consumer and market research efforts to surface insights that inform strategy.
• Support the development of new product launch strategies and go-to-market plans.
2. Marketing Planning & Calendar Management
• Build and maintain the brand's integrated marketing and activation calendar across markets.
• Develop detailed campaign briefs, timelines, and budget trackers – ensuring plans are realistic, well-sequenced, and commercially sound.
• Coordinate with internal teams (commercial, operations, R&D, finance) and external partners to align on deliverables and deadlines.
• Track performance of marketing activities and report out on key metrics and learnings.
3. Trade & Channel Activation
• Plan and execute trade activations, in-store promotions, and visibility programmes across key markets.
• Liaise with distributor partners to ensure brand standards are upheld and activation plans are implemented effectively.
• Conduct regular trade audits to monitor on-shelf execution, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
• Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities – including brand tie-ups, on-trade placement, and channel partnerships – with a commercial mindset.
4. Distributor & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as a key day-to-day contact for distributor partners in assigned markets.
• Support the commercial team with B2B marketing materials, trade presentations, and sell-in toolkits.
• Maintain strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
5. Influencer & Community Marketing
• Support the planning and execution of influencer outreach programmes across Singapore and Australia.
• Identify and engage relevant KOLs and brand advocates aligned with The Golden Duck's brand values.
• Monitor campaign performance and manage relationships with influencer partners.
6. Content & Digital Support
• Assist in briefing and reviewing content for social media and digital channels.
• Ensure brand consistency across all consumer-facing assets and communications.
• Stay current with digital and social trends relevant to the brand's target markets.
What Success Looks Like
• Trade activations are executed on time, on brand, and to a standard that drives measurable sell-through.
• The activation calendar is always current, shared proactively, and used as the single source of truth for the brand team.
• Distributor partners describe you as organised, responsive, and commercially aware.
• The Head of Brand & Creative can trust that in-market execution is being managed without needing to chase for updates.
• Brand visibility, trial, and trade engagement metrics show consistent improvement quarter on quarter.
Qualifications
Education
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
• 5-8 years of marketing experience, with a strong preference for FMCG or consumer goods.
• Hands-on experience in trade marketing, brand activation, or channel marketing rather than digital or social alone.
• Prior experience working in or across Singapore and Australia is a strong advantage.
• Exposure to multi-market or regional marketing environments is preferred.
• Experience working with or managing distributor relationships is preferred.
Skills (Non-Negotiables)
• Highly organised with strong project management and follow-through.
• Commercially minded; understands how brand activity connects to sell-through and revenue.
• Proactive and self-directed; does not wait to be told what needs to be done.
• Strong communicator in English, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working across markets and time zones.
• Proficient in standard tools: Google Suite, presentation design, and basic data analysis.
What We Offer
• Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
• Path to Full-Time Employment: This role starts as a 6-month contract. Candidates who successfully complete the probation period will be offered a full-time position.
• Real Ownership: A role with meaningful scope from day one, not a support function buried in process.
• High-Growth Brand: Join a commercially successful and internationally recognised brand at an exciting stage of growth.
• Collaborative Culture: A lean, driven team where ideas are welcomed and good work is noticed.
• Regional Exposure: Work across multiple markets and gain hands-on experience with international brand building.
