Job Description

This role supports production planning and material coordination activities to ensure smooth manufacturing operations, timely customer deliveries, and efficient resource utilization. The Assistant Planner works closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and HQ teams to maintain accurate production schedules, material availability, and shipment planning while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Supports the overall production and material planning activities to ensure smooth operations, timely delivery, and optimal resource utilization.
Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders and forecasts.
Monitor production progress and update planning schedules accordingly.
Highlight any potential delays or capacity constraints to the Planning Executive.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure on-time completion of Manufacturing Orders (MO).
Check material readiness against the production plan.
Liaise with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure material availability before production starts.
Follow up on material shortages and expedite critical items when required.
Support in issuing work orders and tracking material flow between kitting, production, and warehouse.
Follow up on shipment status with Packing and Finished Goods (FG) Warehouse teams.
Coordinate and follow up on shipping instructions from HQ.
Liaise with HQ Shipping team regarding upcoming shipments and delivery arrangements.
Update On-Time Delivery (OTD) reports on a weekly basis.
Update shipment details reports daily.
Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems, including MO release, closure, and rescheduling activities.
Generate and update daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports.
Ensure system transactions are completed accurately and timely, reflecting actual material and production status.
Act as a liaison between Planning, Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Logistics departments.
Support customer delivery commitment tracking and follow-up activities.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for planning review meetings.
Support process improvement initiatives related to production planning, material flow, and inventory control.
Participate in system enhancement and automation projects to improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications Required

Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
Fresh graduates with relevant academic background, internship experience, or strong interest in planning and supply chain functions are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Skills

Basic understanding of production planning, inventory control, and material requirement planning (MRP).
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and shipment coordination is an added advantage.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
