Job Description

Position Summary

The Assistant Procurement Manager (Marketing & Premium) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers for marketing materials, promotional items, premiums, POSM (Point-of-Sale Materials), and others duties which may be assigned at later stage. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality, compliance, and timely delivery while supporting marketing campaigns and brand objectives.

Working Location: Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang (next to Setia Alam)

You will play an important role to:

1) Strategic Procurement

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for marketing and premium categories
  • Align sourcing plans with marketing calendars, campaign timelines, and brand guidelines
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or brand image

2) Supplier Management

  • Source, evaluate and onboard suppliers for promotional items, gifts, POSM, and marketing materials
  • Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, MOQs, lead times, and service levels
  • Manage supplier performance, contracts. Conduct suppliers evaluation to ensure they meet the company's requirements; liaise directly with suppliers to address performance issues in service or quality of parts
  • Build long-term partnerships with key vendors

3) Cost & Budget Control

  • Manage procurement budgets for marketing and premium spend
  • Track costs, savings, and variances against budget
  • Ensure transparency and compliance with procurement policies

4) Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all promotional items meet brand standards, sustainability requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Oversee sampling, approvals, and quality checks
  • Ensure ethical sourcing and compliance with company and legal standards

5) Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Brand, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams
  • Support marketing teams with innovative premium ideas and sourcing solutions
  • Coordinate with logistics for delivery, warehousing, and distribution

6) Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare procurement reports, savings analysis, and supplier performance dashboards
  • Analyzes trends and identify opportunities for cost reductions

7) Continuously improving procurement processes, systems, and workflows

8) Operation Sourcing

  • Review purchase requisition (PR) & issue purchase order (PO)
  • Request for quotations. Review, evaluate, negotiate and select supplier.
  • Responsible for new vendor registration for NTMS suppliers. Establish, review, and maintain Approved Vendors List
  • Determines and executes necessary activities related to ERP system implementation and maintenance related to marketing & premium area.
  • Establishes standard operating procedures related to procurement (NTMS) marketing & premium and ensures they are followed by all relevant stake holders.
  • Able to deal with 3rd party service provider and experience in shipping arrangement from overseas. Ensure shipment arrangement for imported materials are arranged as per requirement from internal customer.

9) Other duties may be assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Minimum a degree holder in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in marketing, premiums, POSM, or promotional items
  • Experience working with marketing or brand teams. Experience in FMCG, retail, consumer goods, or advertising agencies is preferred
