Job Description

Position: Assistant Production Manager

Working Hour: Mon- Fri, 8 - 5:30pm

Compensation: RM10/ Day (Meal), RM300/ Month (Fixed Transport), RM 40/ Month (Fixed Phone)

Report to: Production Manager

Current team size: Pioneer team (about 400+)

Location: Lot 8 & 9, Kawasan Industri Padang Meha, 09400 Padang Serai, Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia

Interview Rounds: 1 round with Production Manager (prefer physical)

Job Scopes:

Production Management

1. Develop and arrange the workshop production schedule based on the production plan issued by the Manufacturing Technology Department.

2. Monitor the completion of the workshop production plan and promptly coordinate and resolve any production abnormalities.

3. Compile and report the workshop's monthly production performance, analyze abnormal situations, and implement improvement measures.

4. Control and manage the workshop's energy consumption, raw material consumption, labor costs, and manufacturing expenses.

Process and Quality Management

1. Review the work instructions prepared by the workshop and monitor compliance with process requirements at each production stage.

2. Control all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure product quality meets the required product standards. Analyze monthly scrap and waste data and implement improvement measures.

3. Organize personnel to conduct process discipline and on-site 5S inspections, and prepare layered process audit reports.

4. Compile monthly statistics on production yield and product appearance pass rates, analyze the results, and implement improvement actions.

Personnel and Training Management

1. Responsible for promoting employee awareness and communicating the company's culture and values.

2. Responsible for team building and establishing development objectives for the workshop's talent pipeline.

3. Develop the workshop training plan and assist the Human Resources Department in conducting multi-skilled employee training.

4. Based on production capacity requirements, propose appropriate manpower planning and staffing needs for the workshop, and conduct exit interviews with departing employees.

On-site 6S and Safety Management

1. Establish a workshop on-site 6S and safety management system in accordance with the company's 6S and safety requirements.

2. Regularly organize personnel to conduct 6S and safety management inspections.

3. Promptly implement corrective actions for non-conformities identified during on-site 6S inspections and address potential safety hazards.

Equipment and Metrology Management

1. Participate in reviewing and confirming the content of equipment maintenance and repair plans.

2. Report equipment breakdowns and coordinate the handling of equipment abnormalities and related issues.

3. Conduct inspections and performance assessments of daily equipment maintenance.

4. Assist relevant departments in selecting new equipment for the workshop and conducting incoming acceptance inspections, as well as assisting with equipment disposal and scrapping.

5. Apply for and arrange timely procurement of the measuring instruments required by the workshop, and ensure their validity and calibration status.

Performance and Compensation Management

1. Responsible for workforce planning, including determining the appropriate staffing levels and job positions for the workshop.

2. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions for workshop functions and management positions.

3. Conduct and maintain standard time measurements, and work with the Human Resources Department to establish piece rates for each production process.

4. Develop and implement the workshop employee performance appraisal system.

5. Review piece-rate payroll calculations and approve employee performance-based compensation allocation plans.

Product Design and Development

1. Arrange product trials and testing appropriately, identify and confirm issues encountered during the new product trial production process, and provide recommendations for small-batch production and product finalization.

Requirements

- Diploma or above, with knowledge and skills in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.

- Strong organizational, coordination, control, and communication skills familiar with battery manufacturing processes and electrochemistry-related knowledge.

- More than 8 years of experience in battery manufacturing or a related electrochemical industry, including at least 5 years of workshop management experience.

- Training in production management, performance management, basic lithium-ion battery production knowledge, lithium-ion battery safety, production processes, quality management systems, environmental management systems, and other relevant areas.
