Assistant QA Manager

Job Description

• Lead and manage the QA department, including manpower planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to ensure product quality throughout the production and development process.
• Lead and supervise QA team leaders, engineers and inspectors, including performance evaluation and staff development.
• Manage customer quality complaints, product returns and corrective actions, and coordinate customer and supplier audits.
• Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and work closely with other departments to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance metrics to achieve departmental objectives.
• Oversee product inspection, testing and quality control activities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with requirements.
• Manage quality issues with internal departments, suppliers and customers, ensuring effective problem resolution.
• Ensure quality procedures, work instructions and SOPs are properly maintained and comply with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
• Ensure all quality tools, equipment and processes are effective and properly maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and environmental certifications.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of CAPA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving techniques.
• Familiar with FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE and 8D methodologies.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience in IQC, IPQC, OQC and calibration processes.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 quality management systems and audits.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
