Job Description

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering lessons tailored to student.
  • Support students participation in classroom activities, ensuring engagement and positive behavior.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require additional support.
  • Help implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or therapist.
  • Support students with daily living skills (e.g., mobility, communication, feeding, toileting) as required.
  • Prepare and organize learning materials, classroom equipment, and teaching aids.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording student progress and behavior for teacher review.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure students safety and well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support holistic student development.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and professional development activities as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum [Diploma / Certificate] in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field or SPM certificate with 2 years experience in child care/ child education.
  • Prior experience working with children with special needs is highly preferred.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physically able to assist students with mobility or self-care needs when necessary.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and lesson support.
  • Training will be provided.
