About the Job

Responsible for ensuring Financial results (e.g. Profit, Contractual Service Margin (CSM), New Business Embedded Value (NBEV) and Management Expense) are analyzed, effectively communicated to the key stakeholders and drive initiatives to optimize the Financial Results. This role also leads the business plan exercise to set company's key financial performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze financial performance indicator (e.g. Profit, CSM, NBEV, ROE and Management Expense) to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Identify variances between actuals and forecasts; develop and implement actionable plans to bridge financial gaps in collaboration with various departments.
  • Lead the business plan exercise, work with the team in preparation, consolidation and forecast of the company's key financial KPIs and ensure assumptions are realistic aligned with strategy.
  • Present financial results, trends and strategic insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders, including senior management and Group Office. Tailor messaging to various stakeholder needs.
  • Monitor the company's expenses and perform analysis to identify potential areas for cost savings and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide oversight on the review of the expenditure approval form for both local and regional projects, ensuring compliance to Expenditure Approval Operating Guideline (EAOP) and appropriate allocation basis/ratio is applied.
  • Review the budget request and mechanism of sales campaign proposed by distribution team to ensure alignment with business goals and perform post programme review to evaluate the effectiveness of the sales campaign.
  • Review the company's policy and operating guidelines (OG) relating to expenditure approval and ensuring governance and controls are in place.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements in financial planning and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and decision-making continuously.
  • Assist the Head of Business Finance and Chief Financial Officer in any other assignments as and when required.
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

  • Possess a Bachelor in Statistics/ Mathematic/ Actuarial Studies / Finance & Accounting.
  • Good progress in professional exams to attain professional certification in either the actuarial or finance associations recognized by BNM.
  • Have more than 6 years of working experience and knowledge on own job discipline (Specialized) as well as related job disciplines (Intermediate).
  • Have the ability to develop people, decision making, and collaborative
  • Maintain a proactive mindset by challenging norms and exploring new possibilities
  • Have experience in business planning and financial modelling.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in valuation approaches and methodologies, Valuation Conclusion and Reporting, Scenario Planning and Analysis.
