JOB SUMMARY
The scope of the responsibilities includes plan, manage, delegates, supervise and advise on tasks related to overall employee well-being strategies, compliance with sustainability and regulation acts also ensured it is alignment with Air Selangor's corporate business strategy, policies, and objectives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Leadership and Strategic Functions
- Develop and implement the organisation's overall Mental Well-Being Plan and Strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate values, ESG and HR objectives.
- Design and develop policies, guidelines and procedures related to counselling, psychological services and well-being governance.
- Lead and oversee the Counselling & Advisory Team, ensuring professional standards, confidentiality and ethical compliance.
- Advise management on psychological risk management, performance rehabilitation and employee wellness planning.
- Plan and initiate Rakan Prihatin programmes to enhance peer-support capability and promote a positive work culture.
- Initiate and manage budget planning and utilisation to ensure efficient and impactful programme implementation.
- Lead benchmarking and collaboration with external agencies to align with best practices in counselling, HR and sustainability.
- Advise and integrate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles related to Human Resource well-being.
- Direct the development of research, innovation and publications on psychology, counselling and workplace mental health awareness.
2.Operational and Technical Functions
- Conduct and supervise individual, group, family, marriage, tele- and e-counselling sessions as required.
- Provide consultation and crisis intervention services for employees in need of psychological or emotional support.
- Handle and manage low-performing or problematic employees, ensuring rehabilitation and behavioural improvement.
- Prepare psychological input for prevention, development and recovery programmes.
- Deliver lectures, talks, workshops or virtual sessions to departments or regions based on expertise.
- Serve as a resource centre for psychological information, employee assistance and advisory references within the organisation.
- Provide advisory services and follow-up on employee well-being, ensuring integration with Human Resource and management processes.
- Monitoring, Reporting and Administrative Functions
- Prepare, review and approve counselling and well-being reports, ensuring data accuracy and quality improvement.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate Employee Advisory projects, such as the Counsellor Panel or Performance Rehabilitation programmes.
- Document and report case studies, intervention outcomes and awareness materials for internal and external publication.
- Maintain and update the repository of policies, procedures and counselling room guidelines in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, professional standards and Malaysian Board of Counsellors requirements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Master's in career Counselling or equivalent qualification recognized by the government
- Degree of honors and a Diploma of Counselling or equivalent recognized qualifications by the professional body or relevant authority.
- Counsellor is registered and has practice certificate under the Malaysian Counsellor Board
- At least 8 years of experience in career counselling, employment services or related professional fields
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of career development theories, counselling frameworks and labour market trends.
- Knowledge in career assessment tools and psychometric instruments.
- Understanding of ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in counselling practice.
- Familiarity with digital counselling platforms and data reporting systems.
- Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
- Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
- Proficient in digital counselling platforms and relevant IT tools.
- High level of confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including 24/7 operations if required.
- Excellent command of Bahasa Melayu and English (written and spoken).
