About the Job
Lead and oversee the System Support and Management Support team from day-to-day operations, lead or participate in local or regional projects.
The Job
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for process change or system enhancement.
- Responsible to coordinate and update functional HODs and leads for enhancement requirement needs, prioritisation, implementation with impact analysis and risk assessment.
- Leads the projects, keeps IT Steering Committee, Project Steering Committee and Project Team posted on the progress and status of the project and manages project budget; apply systematic project implementation methodology and enforces project standards and deliverables.
- Review and verify project deliverables prepared by participating teams including signoff and approval of gap list, functional specification document, data migration scope document, change requests, UAT acceptance, production go-live readiness.
- Collaborate and work with business analysts, test manager or other local/ regional/ external stakeholders to incorporate these deliverables at the right functional points for timely testing and liaise with relevant IT heads to manage and drive development resources to ensure timely delivery.
- Collates, checks and analyses spreadsheet data, ensures financial reports and records are accurate and reliable.
- Ensures suspense balance, outstanding provision account, expired cheques or failed payment, unpaid approved claims, exception reports and co-ordinate/carry out necessary financial reconciliation, rectification and clearance including unclaimed moneys according to time frame set.
- Develop, implement and ensure procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed.
- As part of the leadership team, work with key stakeholders to proactively shape the organisation's culture and conduct environment that is aligned to the organization's Core Values.
- Champion culture and conduct behavioral expectations within the Department/Division.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
We are looking for people who
- University Degree in any discipline. A focus in Actuarial or Information Technology relevant disciplines are an advantage.
- More than 10 years experience in system or management support, preferably in life insurance industry with claim experience, minimum 5 years in managerial role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good public relationship skills, excellent analytical and numerical abilities, delegation skills, ability to produce high quality work under pressure, negotiation skills, supervisory skills, sound business knowledge, accuracy and an eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, good IT skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets, organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines, self-motivation, determination and confidence, ability to work as part of a team.
