Ansell is looking for an Assoc Specialist, General Maintenance to be based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utility systems to ensure smooth plant operations with minimal downtime. The role executes preventive maintenance programs, coordinates shutdown activities, and ensures critical equipment remains reliable and operational. The incumbent also ensures compliance with electrical safety, EHS, and regulatory requirements while supervising contractors performing maintenance work. Additionally, the position supports continuous improvement initiatives through equipment reliability projects, root cause analysis, and efficiency enhancement recommendations.

What Will Your Role Be

1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns in production and utility systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and support continuous production operations.

2. Facility & Utility Management

  • Maintain plant utility systems, including:
  • LV electrical distribution systems
  • Air compressors
  • HVAC systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Water supply systems
  • Emergency generators
  • Monitor utility consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.

3. Preventive Maintenance Planning

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance shutdown activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records and equipment service histories.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts for critical equipment.

4. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Support EHS initiatives, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Investigate electrical-related incidents and recommend preventive measures.

5. Contractor Management

  • Supervise contractors performing electrical installation and maintenance work.
  • Ensure contractors comply with safety requirements and company standards.
  • Review and verify the quality of completed work before acceptance.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Support equipment reliability and maintenance improvement projects.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.

What Will You Bring

  • Experience in maintenance, facilities, utilities, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment and utility systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
  • Good communication and contractor management skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
