About the Job

As part of the Group Resource & Services Centre (RSC), the Expense Management team plays a critical role in strengthening expense governance and driving standardisation across the Group. As a member of this dynamic team, you will be responsible for expense governance, overseeing budget exercises, and evaluating Group-wide initiatives. You will support the Expense Management Team Lead by coordinating expense management activities, monitoring project progress, and delivering insightful business analytics to support decision-making

  • Review and standardise the Group Policy on Expenditure Approval & Procurement and the Group Expenditure Approval Operating Guidelines, with a strong focus on governance and control frameworks
  • Participate in the evaluation of Group-wide business initiatives by assessing programme design, budget sufficiency, proposed metrics, business deliverables, and cost reasonableness.
  • Conduct expenses management reviews by analysing spending trends to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and drive standardisation of expense practice across the Group.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and consolidation of budget template for the annual Group wide Business Planning exercise and providing strategic support
  • Contribute to process improvements in data preparation to enable deeper and more effective expense analysis
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance and streamline reporting and analytical processes.
  • Support the Team Lead on project assignments and ad-hoc requests as required.

We are looking for people with

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance/Actuarial or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the insurance industry would be an advantage.
  • A good problem solver and have excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure to meet timelines.
  • Self-motivated and committed to achieving results
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, meticulous and detailed
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Goal-orientated and resourceful;
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a clear overview of key issues;
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
