Associate Director, Internal Audit | Education Sector | Up to $14,000/month

Our client is a leading institution committed to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. They are seeking an experienced internal audit leader to join their team and play a key role in strengthening risk management, internal controls and organisational effectiveness.
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and oversee the organisation's risk-based internal audit programme, ensuring audits are delivered in accordance with professional standards.
- Manage, coach and develop a team of auditors while overseeing external audit partners, audit resources and departmental budgets.
- Review audit findings, evaluate key risks and internal controls, and present recommendations to senior management and relevant committees.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing audit methodologies and championing the use of data analytics, automation and AI to improve audit effectiveness.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Accountancy, Business or a related discipline, with professional qualifications such as CIA, CA, CISA and/or CRMA preferred.
- At least 15 years of internal audit experience, including 8-10 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management, internal controls, COSO Framework and internal audit methodologies, with exposure to IT audit.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management and drive meaningful change.
