Role Description We're hiring an Associate Director, M&A and Commercial (Malaysia) to serve as AddVita's senior on-the-ground presence in Malaysia. Based in Malaysia, you'll own market coverage and deal origination across Malaysia's pharma, medical devices, diagnostics, and life sciences sectors. The role will also build relationships with founders, owner-managers, intermediaries, and industry participants, and identifying M&A, investment, and partnership opportunities aligned with AddVita's platform priorities. You'll lead and coordinate due diligence workstreams (financial, commercial, tax, legal, governance) in close partnership with HQ in Singapore.

Alongside the M&A remit, you'll support organic growth across AddVita's Malaysian portfolio, helping founders unlock commercial opportunities, principal partnerships, and cross-platform collaboration always in a way that respects portfolio company autonomy and AddVita decentralisation approach. You'll also be the local point of contact for onboarding newly acquired Malaysian companies onto the platform.

The role involves regular travel to Singapore for coordination with the HQ AddVita team in Singapore. Travel costs are covered by AddVita.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, or business development.
  • Track record of deal sourcing, opportunity evaluation, and due diligence coordination in Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
  • Solid financial, commercial, and valuation analysis capabilities — including business model assessment, earnings quality, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong network across Malaysian founders, owner-managers, intermediaries, and principals is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, medtech, pharmaceutical, or diagnostics sectors preferred.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; MBA, CFA, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Comfortable operating in a decentralised, founder-friendly platform environment through influence and coordination.
  • Based in Malaysia and able to travel regularly to Singapore.
  • High personal integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to represent AddVita credibly in local market discussions.
