Key Responsibilities
a) Daily Bank Reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliation between bank transactions and General Ledger (GL) postings to ensure all cash movements are accurately recorded.
- Verify that balances match across systems and highlight any discrepancies promptly.
b) Identification of Irregularities
- Immediately flag any unusual, suspicious, or incorrect transactions identified during reconciliation.
- Ensure that errors or incorrect GL postings are corrected quickly to minimize unreconciled items.
c) Monitoring and Clearing Reconciliation Items
- Track outstanding reconciliation items, investigate root causes, and work towards timely resolution.
- Maintain proper documentation of all reconciling adjustments and closures.
d) Timeliness and Accuracy
- Ensure all reconciliation tasks, reporting, and follow-ups are completed accurately and within stipulated timelines.
- Uphold high standards of precision to support reliable financial reporting.
e) Cross Functional Coordination
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including Operations, Treasury, Payments, IT, and other Finance teams to resolve issues identified during reconciliation.
f) Support for Clearing and Audit Requirements
- Assist in providing additional information, supporting documents, or explanations required for clearing outstanding items.
- Support internal or external audit requests related to bank transactions and cash management.
g) AdHoc and Administrative Support
- Assist with adhoc tasks, administrative duties, or finance projects assigned from time to time.
- Provide support for process improvements, system enhancements, or documentation updates related to reconciliation processes.
Educational Qualifications & Years of Relevant Experience
- Degree in Accounting and Finance; or
- Professional Accounting Qualification (MICPA/ ACCA/ CIMA/ CPA) (partial / completed)
- Minimum 1-2 years of working experience.
- Experience in Audit / Stockbroking / Investment Banking / Asset Management industries are preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting entries.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills
- Fluent in English and Malay (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced user in Excel, Words, PowerPoint etc). Knowledge in Macro automation is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting entries is a must.
