Why This Role Matters

As part of Finexus core finance function, this role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations. You will play a key role in supporting decision-making by maintaining reliable financial records, managing tax matters, and ensuring statutory compliance. Your ownership of daily accounting activities ensures smooth operations and financial transparency across the business.

About the Role

You will handle daily settlements, reconciliations, and full-set accounting processes, including journal entries, AP/AR, and general ledger maintenance. You will liaise with auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions to maintain compliance and assist in funding activities. This role also contributes to process improvements, internal controls, and timely reporting to support operational and strategic decisions.

Mission / Expected Outcomes

  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of settlements and clearing accounts.
  • Deliver reliable financial reports and accounting data for operational decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Support effective cash flow management and funding activities.
  • Contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Operations

  • Manage daily settlement for card and e-money transactions.
  • Perform reconciliations and prepare journal entries for depreciation, HP interest, term loan interest, and other relevant entries.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of financial reports and accounting data entries.
  • Maintain full-set accounts including general ledger, AP/AR, and financial statements.

Tax Management & Statutory Compliance

  • Liaise with auditors and tax agents to ensure statutory compliance and annual monitoring requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal company policies.

Cash Flow & Financial Monitoring

  • Assist in cash flow planning and monitor inflows/outflows.
  • Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for funding purposes.

Internal Controls, Process Improvements & Governance

  • Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures.
  • Identify gaps in processes and support improvements to enhance accounting and reporting systems.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and duties assigned by management.

Technical Scope

  • Accounting standards: IFRS / MFRS
  • Tax knowledge: SST, indirect taxes, statutory requirements
  • Tools: Accounting software / ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), Microsoft Office
  • Financial operations: Full-set accounts, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CIMA, MACPA, CPA)

Experience

  • 23 years experience in audit and/or accounting-related fields
  • Familiarity with full accounting cycle, financial statements, and reconciliations
  • Exposure to e-money, fintech, or card business operations is preferred
