Job Description

ACWA Power Malaysia is seeking a Business Development Technical Specialist to support the companys growth in the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on floating solar, ground-mounted solar PV, and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar projects. The role requires a technically skilled professional with strong project development and execution knowledge, who can support the business development team in evaluating, structuring, and delivering renewable energy projects in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical due diligence and feasibility analysis for floating solar, ground-mounted solar, and C&I renewable projects.
  • Support project development activities including site identification, design assessment, permitting, and grid connection studies.
  • Conduct technical and financial modelling inputs in collaboration with the project finance team to ensure project bankability.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, government agencies, contractors, and technology providers, to support project development.
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals, and presentations for new project opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the global ACWA Power technical and engineering teams to leverage international best practices for project design and execution.
  • Support risk assessment and mitigation planning for renewable projects.
  • Track industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory updates related to renewable energy in Malaysia and ASEAN.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related fields).
  • Experience in renewable energy project development, with exposure to floating solar, ground-mounted solar PV, and C&I solar projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of solar PV design, permitting, and execution.
  • Experience with technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and project risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with Malaysias renewable energy regulatory environment, including EC, SEDA, and utility frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
