Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

  • Undertake teaching and teaching related duties such as design, preparation and development of teaching materials; conduct classes/lectures, tutorials and practicals; consultation with students, invigilation, marking and assessment
  • Supervise research project work and scholarship of postgraduate students
  • Participate in and be responsible for high quality programme and curriculum development
  • Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University's teaching and learning expectations

Research

  • Participate actively in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentation, dissemination of research results, journal publications, consultancy work and relevant community work
  • Review and improve research and teaching activities
  • Seek and secure external grants to support research activities and scholarship
  • Achieve the specified set of research outcome targets for Associate Professor level

Administration and Other Activities

  • Undertake and contribute a high level of administrative responsibilities such as taking on departmental roles or management functions including attending meetings, participate in committees and working groups within the Department, School, Faculty and the University
  • Engage in continuous professional development, including participation and facilitation in relevant professional activities
  • Build a wide network, nationally and internationally, and establish linkages with external organisations/ professional bodies in academic related matters

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a doctoral degree from a recognised university in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice
  • Candidate first degree must be a Pharmacy and registered with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia
  • Considerable experience working in relevant industry with an extensive record of professional contribution
  • A track record of successful supervision of Masters and PhD students to completion
  • A track record of securing research funding from a variety of grant awarding bodies and sponsors, industry or government
  • Outstanding record and reputation as a professional/academic scholar/thought leader at national/international level
  • Possess expertise, lingkage and passion in contributing to the advancement of the pharmacy profession and healthcare through research and consultancy work
