Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Lead and oversee audit engagements in accordance with applicable financial reporting, auditing, and quality management standards.
Plan and ensure audit engagements are properly resourced and executed efficiently within agreed timelines.
Review audit working papers, audit programs, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, independence, and compliance with professional standards.
Identify legislation, regulatory, and compliance issues relevant to audit engagements and ensure adherence to applicable professional standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to the audit team on financial reporting, auditing, and quality management standards.
Monitor the progress of audit engagements and ensure objectives, deadlines, and quality requirements are achieved.
Prepare and monitor audit budgets to ensure engagements are conducted within cost constraints.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and act as a key contact during audit engagements.
Prepare and submit relevant audit reports and engagement documentation.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by Partners or senior management.
Provide credible and agile leadership to subordinates

Job Requirements

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting standards.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
Familiarity with quality control standards such as International Standard on Quality Control (ISQC 1).
Strong leadership, delegation, and supervisory skills to manage audit teams effectively.
Ability to mentor and coach junior staff, supporting their professional development.
Proficiency in IT tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of business environments.
Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Companies Act 2016, the Financial Reporting Act 1997, and the Accountants Act 1967.
