Automation Technician

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to apply advanced trade mathematics.

• Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and charts.

• Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.

• Ability to apply judgment in performing complex technical work.

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Automation & Control Systems

• Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)

and ladder logic.

• Experience with industrial PLC platforms such as AllennBradley, Beckhoff, Omron, and Delta.

Robotics

• Must have working knowledge of Fanuc 6nAxis Industrial Robotic Arms.

• Ability to perform robot teaching, program editing, and troubleshooting.

• Experience integrating robots into automated assembly lines.

• Can speak Chinese

Working under general supervision, the Automation Technician III plans, maps, sequences, and

performs the assembly of complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic robotic equipment based

on verbal and written instructions. The role also involves creating and interpreting mechanical,

pneumatic, and electrical schematics to support automation equipment assembly, troubleshooting,

and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment.

• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic repairs on automation equipment.

• Perform equipment failure analysis and corrective repairs.

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on robotic and automated equipment.

Equipment Setup & Installation

• Set up manual and semi-automatic assembly lines.

• Assist in operating pre-production runs.

• Assist with installation of new automated equipment.

• Support relocation of equipment to new production locations.

Robot Programming

• Create new robot programs.

• Modify and edit existing robot programs.

• Maintain robot program backups and documentation.

• Support robotic system calibration and optimization.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate reports of activities performed on each piece of equipment.

• Ensure all software and programs are properly backed up and updated.

Production Support

• Work with Maintenance and Process Technicians to maintain daily production operations.

• Maintain production uptime through preventative and corrective maintenance.

• Support production assembly processes.

Continuous Improvement
