Job Summary
To promote SMBC's business in Malaysia and to enhance profitability and market presence of SMBC.
To promote new products, Loan, Deposit, FX, Derivatives, e-banking business to Japanese and Korean customers.
To establish marketing strategy / business plan and increase profit.
As risk owners concerning its credit origination/operation and be responsible for i) identification and evaluation of risks encountered in the business activities, ii) implementation of measures for minimizing and controlling risks, iii) monitoring of risks and reporting within the first line and to the second line and iv) creation and fostering of a sound risk culture.
Job Description
To achieve the department's overall revenue and KPI given by managements.
To enhance SMBC's customer base and cross-sell other products like project finance, ECA finance, ESG loan, trade finance, Cash Management Services, etc.
To manage the relationship with customers and provide solutions for their financing needs.
To approach Japanese and Korean corporate to increase customer base.
Supervise preparation of credit applications, discussion with Credit Department, procure credit approval and follow up.
Ensure full compliance to relevant rules and risk appetites in SMBCMY, SMBC Head Office and Regulatory Requirements (i.e., FEN, SCEL, Large Loans, Connected Parties, CCRIS Front end reporting, KYC/AML procedure, etc.,) as the first line of defence function.
Responsible for credit origination (individual assessment on obligor and credit transaction) including discussion with Head Office Credit Department / presentation to Credit Committee / Board of Directors, negotiation on terms and conditions in documentation process, post approval monitoring of financials/covenants testing and their reporting.
Ensure timely and comprehensive reporting on irregular events (e.g., customer complaint, information leakage, operational incident, credit deterioration), root cause analysis and implementation of remedial measures.
To lead the internal business discussion, exercise operational judgment/decision making process related to customers as a risk owner including communication with shared services centre and control functions/Head Office.
Job Requirements
A degree in Accounting / Finance / Banking / Business Management or equivalent. Those who possess relevant AICB qualification is an added advantage.
Preferable with 2-6 years of banking experiences in dealing with Commercial / Corporate Customers.
Knowledge in banking products including trade and derivatives is an added advantage.
Excellent communication skill with strong command of English language both written and spoken. Japanese and Korean language is an added advantage.
Outgoing, result-oriented, self-motivated and resourceful.
Able to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Able to work independently and a strong team player.
