Job Title: Developer - Backend (BE)

Job Summary:
The Backend Developer (Junior, L2) will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of backend services and integrations for the bank's digital retail platforms. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and secure backend modules while adhering to software development standards and DevOps practices. The candidate will assist in automation, continuous integration, and backend system improvements to support digital banking initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance backend components for digital retail banking applications.
  • Implement integrations, APIs, and system workflows using Java and Unix shell scripting.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and assist in automated build, test, and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and system errors.
  • Collaborate with senior developers, architects, and product teams to ensure alignment with technical design and business requirements.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with internal standards.
  • Participate in system testing, deployment activities, and production support as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Unix Shell Scripting (Mandatory)
  • Java (Mandatory)
  • Oracle Database
  • Experience with Jenkins (Mandatory)
  • Knowledge of HPUX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems
  • Familiarity with backend development frameworks and tools (e.g., Spring, XML, SQL)

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Maven, JFrog, SonarQube, Veracode
  • GitOps, Ant, Gulp, Grunt, Bower, NPM
  • Full-Stack exposure
  • Spring Boot, Spring Batch
  • JSP, JavaScript, React, CSS
  • CI/CD tools and automation practices
  • Apache Camel (CXF)
  • AEM Forms/Sites, TeamSite, WebLogic Portal
  • Experience in Digital Banking or Web Content Management (WCM)
