We are hiring an AWS Serverless Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, event-driven data integration platforms on AWS Serverless, enabling reliable data exchange across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable integration pipelines across business applications
- Develop backend services using Node.js/TypeScript and Python within AWS Serverless
- Implement integration patterns (event-driven, request-response, batch) based on business needs
- Analyze requirements across data sources, formats, volumes, and frequencies
- Design data flows, including transformation, enrichment, and intelligent routing
- Ensure resilience and reliability (failure handling, replay, alerting)
- Maintain data traceability (auditing, versioning, reconciliation)
- Optimize systems for performance (latency, throughput) and AWS cost efficiency
Technical Environment
AWS Serverless (Core)
- Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, EventBridge
- DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Glue, Athena
- SQS / SNS for messaging
- CloudWatch, Datadog for monitoring
- AWS Security: IAM, Secrets Manager, encryption
Architecture & Engineering
- Strong understanding of integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, batch, streaming)
- Event-driven and distributed system design
- Handling high-volume, multi-format data (JSON, XML, CSV, files)
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation (CDK is a plus)
- CI/CD: GitLab CI/CD
- Monitoring and observability: CloudWatch, structured logging, Datadog
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend/integration engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, etc.)
- Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript (Python experience is a plus)
- Experience with data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) and data transformation
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and integration middleware
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, HTTP, SFTP, JMS/AMQ
- Hands-on with Git, Agile (Scrum), and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
- Managing complex event-driven architectures across distributed systems
- Integrating legacy and modern applications in a 24/7 environment
- Balancing performance and cost optimization at scale
