Role Description The Banquet Team Member is a full-time, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet rooms, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, tableware, and décor according to event specifications. The Banquet Team Member supports food and beverage service during events, ensuring timely delivery of dishes, replenishing items, and maintaining cleanliness and order in service areas. The role includes welcoming guests, responding to requests, and coordinating with the banquet and kitchen teams to ensure smooth event execution. The Banquet Team Member also helps maintain safety, hygiene, and brand standards throughout each function.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform banquet setup and breakdown, including arranging furniture, décor, and table settings accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong guest service mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly, respond to guest needs promptly, and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including carrying trays, serving dishes and beverages, and following hygiene and safety guidelines.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, and lift or move moderate weights as required for event operations.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions and event orders with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
  • Previous experience in banqueting, events, or hospitality is an advantage but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Basic proficiency in English; additional language skills are beneficial in serving diverse guests.
